About Me

Hello, I’m Tricia!

Who Is Tricia?

Tricia is a stay-home Mom to two amazing two-legged kids, a rescued fur-kid and a husband of over 20 years.

I love researching and learning new things and sharing what I learn. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a fascination of all things Greek. Then one day I ran across this wonderful little thing called Komboloi, or worry beads. I started learning about them and their long history and realized that this was something special and could bring a lot of comfort to a lot of people in our stressed-out world. So I set up this site and hope to share the beauty of Komboloi.

Why Do I Want To Do This?

Every time I look around I see a lot of stressed-out people. Our world is filled with constant stress, negativity and toxic and artificial everythings. Many people spend a lot of time and money jumping at the latest fad or newly discovered drug in an effort to find some peace. Then I look at videos with people sitting and playing with their Komboloi…pouring their stress into the beads and allowing the sensations to help them unwind. Sometimes they use them as a meditation tool while they think through their problems as well.

Then I thought that maybe for some people it can be that easy. Maybe just playing with a simple string of beautiful beads, or other fidget toy or reading a fun post can help. If so, I’d like to be able to help…and maybe bring a little awareness of a little tool that’s been used for millenia.

What Is The Point Of This Site?

To share!

I hope that you will come away from this site with a better understanding of this ancient tool and maybe inspire you to give it a try yourself or just enjoyed a few minutes of getting away from it all with an interesting and fun read.

If you have any questions or have a story to share about Komboloi (I love stories) or just want to say “hi”, please leave a comment below.

Be carefree,

    Hi Tricia,

You got me really interested with this komboloi beads. And did you say this is something “Greek?” I never thought Greeks also use beads for prayer or meditation. Or do they only use this as a means to relieve stress?

You’re right, we all get stressed at some point in our lives. And although I do not resort to komboloi or any kind of beads in order to unwind, I find it fascinating that simple items like beads can actually make people feel so much better.

So I will be checking out your site for more information about komboloi beads. Thank you for sharing Tricia.

Thank you. Yes, the komboloi is Greek. Lots of different cultures use beads in a variety of ways but this one is Greek. Generally, komboloi is used as a de-stresser but many people also use them to help them focus when doing things like meditating. It is fascinating.
